Accelerated Class Placement
ACCELERATED CLASS PLACEMENT IN MIDDLE SCHOOL - ENGLISH & SOCIAL SCIENCE
The Capistrano Unified School District determines middle school placement criteria for students to qualify for accelerated English and social science. Click on this link to go to the CUSD website for specific information. If your student is identified as GATE in elementary school, they will automatically be placed into accelerated English and social science. If you are new to CUSD, please use this link (transfer student) to see specific criteria for new students to qualify for accelerated classes.
MATH PLACEMENT GUIDELINES
The Capistrano Unified School district determines incoming 6th grade math placement based on a student's score in 4 sections of the Iready exam for accelerated class readiness in 5th grade. Click here for more information regarding the math program.
